About Coastal Psych
Coastal Psych is a mobile psychology service supporting adults across the Illawarra and Shoalhaven regions.

Whether you’re working through mental health challenges, navigating life transitions, or wanting to build independence, confidence, or healthier relationships — therapy should meet you where you are.

That’s why Coastal Psych offers sessions in your home or in local community settings — parks, cafes, beaches — providing relaxed, real-world support that fits into everyday life.
About the Psychologist
Ben Waters is a registered psychologist with over 10 years of experience supporting people with diverse and complex needs in both community mental health and private practice.

He prides himself on bringing a calm, proactive, practical, and person-centred approach to therapy, with special interests in supporting adults experiencing complex mental health challenges, neurodivergence (including autism and ADHD), and those seeking support around improving quality of life, participation in work and social communities, and improving their sexual health or relationships.

Ben is passionate about making therapy accessible and effective — offering flexible, mobile support that works around people’s real lives.

Why hold Sessions in the Community?

Many people find traditional clinic-based therapy inaccessible, uncomfortable, or just not suited to their needs. Coastal Psych takes a different approach — offering sessions in-home or in places where people feel more at ease.

Whether it’s walking along the beach or meeting at a local café, these flexible environments can help people feel more relaxed and support the transfer of skills into real life. It’s about meeting people where they are — emotionally and literally.

Community based sessions also ideal if you're considering CBT-informed leisure therapy, one of our psychologist's favourite modes of therapy.
